For Registered Dietitians (RDs) seeking a unique blend of professional growth and personal relaxation, Dietitians on Vacation offers an innovative business model that promises both. Here’s a closer look at how this exciting opportunity works and the myriad benefits it offers.

How the Program Works

  • Registration and Fees: RDs interested in participating start by registering with Dietitians on Vacation and paying a fee of $500. This fee covers the administrative costs of connecting dietitians with our partner resorts and facilitating the arrangement of their stay and activities. Although RDs do not receive monetary compensation for their services, the complimentary stay at a luxury resort offers substantial value in return.

  • Partnership with Resorts: We partner with a diverse range of luxury resorts worldwide that agree to host RDs in exchange for their expertise. RDs provide 1-2 nutrition education sessions per day to vacationers and resort staff, offering valuable insights into maintaining a healthy lifestyle. In return, RDs enjoy complimentary stays at these resorts, gaining access to all the amenities and services they offer.

  • Duration of Stay: RDs can choose to stay at a resort for a period ranging from one week or longer, depending on their preferences and the needs of the resort. This flexibility allows RDs to plan their involvement around their professional and personal commitments.

  • Responsibilities: During their stay, RDs conduct group nutrition education sessions tailored to the interests and needs of the resort's guests and staff. The topics and frequency of these sessions are pre-arranged with the resort to fit the overall theme and schedule of activities offered to guests.

  • Preparation and CEUs: Before their stay, RDs are required to watch a video or lecture on public speaking, which helps prepare them for their sessions. These educational videos also provide Continuing Education Units (CEUs), which RDs can count towards the 75 CEUs required every five years to maintain their credentials. This ensures that RD's not only enjoy a fantastic vacation but also advance their professional knowledge and skills.

Benefits for RDs

  • A Working Vacation: One of the standout benefits of Dietitians on Vacation is the opportunity for a working vacation. RD's can unwind and rejuvenate in a beautiful setting while sharing their expertise. This balance of work and leisure offers a refreshing change from the typical professional routine.

  • Discounted Vacation: In return for their services, RD's receive a complimentary stay at a luxury resort for a vastly discounted vacation. This arrangement allows RD's to experience premium resort amenities without the associated costs, making it an attractive proposition for those looking to travel on a budget.

  • Earning CEUs: The program offers RD's the chance to earn CEUs through the mandatory public speaking preparation videos. This helps them stay current with industry standards and practices, ensuring their skills and knowledge remain up-to-date.

  • Skill Enhancement: Participating in the program helps RD's strengthen their public speaking, presentation, and communication skills. Conducting nutrition education sessions in front of diverse audiences refines these abilities, providing valuable experience that can be applied in various professional settings.

  • Networking Opportunities: Dietitians on Vacation also offers RD's the chance to network with peers from around the globe (by joining the Adventurers group on our website). This exchange of ideas and experiences in our Adventurer's group can lead to lasting professional relationships and collaborations.
